Don't start pining up your jeans yet but the fashion trends we saw in the 80's are coming back. There is no doubt when you step into a store you'll be blinded by the loud colours of hot pink, neon green and bright purple. Remember those wide neck sweaters Madonna made popular? Well they're back baby! As well, we're seeing leg warmers and simple patterns make a return. The patterns are mainly stripes; horizontal, vertical, thick or thin. We're seeing a lot of stars, like Mariah Carey and the Spice Girls, making casual appeances in the classic sailors outfit - thick horizontal stripes.

It's strange to see how fashion reinvents itself every year and it gives me a warm nostalgia feeling to see where it is heading. This 80's fashion just has a modern touch to it now. For a night on the town try wearing just one colour from your necklace all the way to your shoes. Some colour along the lines of apple green or banana yellow. Remember the hair styles too - big ultra teased is totally in. Simple outfits like circle skirts with nipped in waists with short sleaves and capri pants make great additions to any wardrobe.

For men the striped shirts are extremely popular right now as retailers are fighting to keep them in stock. The bootleg pants are showing their face once again. A good rule of thumb is to look back at your Father's photos and check out what he was wearing. Odds are, it's back in style. But if you want exclusivity, look to Dolce & Gabbana who's show in Milan had the 80's fever!
